Maysak is forecast to make landfall as a tropical storm over southern Hainan Island, China later today, Friday July 3. Following its landfall, Maysak is forecast to track northwest across Hainan Island and emerge into the Gulf of Tonkin by 18:00 UTC on Friday July 3 (03:00 local time on Saturday July 4). The system is then forecast to make a second landfall as a tropical storm over southern Guangxi Province, China on Saturday July 4 and Sunday July 5. Following its second landfall, Maysak is expected to weaken rapidly to a tropical depression by Monday July 6 while located inland over northern Guangxi Province, China.
